Individual Sessions

Individual sessions are a focused, supportive option when you want help with a specific situation — or when you’d like to try working together before considering longer support.

Sessions can be for children, parents or the family together.

Booking is online, with payment taken at the time of booking.

This is not crisis or emergency support. If you need urgent help, please contact emergency services or relevant local services.

Children (30–45 minutes)

Some children concentrate better in shorter sessions. That’s normal — and it’s often more effective.

In sessions we might:

  • Name emotions safely (often using the Amazing Bears)

  • Notice what feelings feel like in the body

  • Practise simple mindfulness tools to steady big emotions

  • Build a small ‘toolkit’ for home and school

  • Use the workbook Mindfulness & Emotions for 6–12 year olds as a gentle structure

Investment: 30 minutes - £50 | 45 minutes - £75

Parents (60 minutes)

Parent sessions are a place for you to be heard — without judgement.

Many parents come feeling exhausted, unsure, and isolated. The aim is to help you feel steadier, clearer, and more resourced.

Investment: 60 minutes - £100

Examples of things covered in the sessions

Mindfulness what it is and how it can help in life.

Emotional resilience why we might feel certain ways and how to manage the big feelings.

What happens in the brain and body when we feel different ways and how mindfulness can help.

Resilience, growth mindset and self-esteem how to bounce back from challenges.

Happiness, gratitude and kindness what truly makes us happy?

Friendship issues navigating difficulties within friendships.

Managing everyday stress at school and home such as exams, siblings and homework.

I weave in situations that are coming up for the children at the time.

We can make a craft in the session.

If you’re seeking steadiness over time and support across the whole family system, you may prefer Private Family Support.

 Funded Courses and Parent Groups

Parenting can be incredibly lonely — especially when your child is anxious, struggling, or differently wired.

Groups can be a quiet turning point because they reduce isolation. Parents often realise: “It’s not just us.”

These groups are held with warmth and deep care — creating a space where parents can be honest, feel supported, and learn practical tools that improve family life.

What is mindfulness?

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally”

Jon Kabat-Zinn

“Mindfulness is learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, with open minded curiosity, kindness and acceptance. Rather than worrying about what has happened, or what might happen next, it trains us to respond skilfully to whatever is happening right now, be that good or bad.”

Mindfulness in Schools Project

“Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.”

Alice Morse Earle

What are the benefits of mindfulness?

Mindfulness has been shown to improve our health and wellbeing on many levels. As well as increasing our creativity, it can also reduce everyday stresses, improve relationships, help with exam nerves and remind us to notice the better moments in our lives.

Mindfulness can improve our health and well-being
An important part of mindfulness is reconnecting with our bodies and the sensations we experience. In achieving this, we can identify when we need to pause, or change what we are doing to help ourselves.

Learning made easier
Mindfulness trains our mind to focus our attention away from the distractions of our surroundings, positively affecting how we learn.

Thinking clearly
As distractions fail to distract, we become more aware of our own thoughts and the path they take.

Improving performance
Naturally, as our thoughts become clearer, our ability to complete tasks improves and we gain confidence in our abilities.

Feel calmer
Now we can dismiss those distractions, and are aware of the direction our thoughts are taking, we have more control over our actions and emotions.

Getting a handle on anxiety and depression
Anxiety and often depression are typically caused by repetitive negative thoughts. In acknowledging the presence of those thoughts, and learning to accept them without judgement through mindfulness, our anxiety is challenged.

Be happier
Mindfulness encourages us to think in the present and to take each day moment by moment. When we are able to dismiss those concerns about what happens next and worries about how well or badly we did in the past, we have more headspace to really consider the present moment.

That is what Chatterminds is all about!

Learning mindfulness, building emotional reslience, discovering ways to nurture our mental health, making crafts and having lots of fun!

  • Right from the very first time I met Carol I knew her services would help my children. She was so understanding and friendly on the telephone and completely non judgemental.
    — Happy parent
  • My daughter is now much better at talking about her feelings and recognising when she needs a moment to work out how she feels. She had this to say: "I like the crafts and making things, it's really fun. The crafts are things that can help you when you feel angry or stressed. I really like Carol because she is always kind and happy and helpful. I would give her five out of five stars!"
    — Mindfulness in Schools Project
  • There were always opportunities to let Carol know what particular things we were struggling with and then she would weave these into their sessions.
